Welcome to The Castine Inn
Built in 1898, this historic Inn stands one block from the harbor on Castine’s Main Street. The peaceful, historic village of Castine, Maine is situated on the tip of a peninsula overlooking Penobscot Bay, one of the world’s loveliest cruising grounds. Surrounded by a wraparound porch and stunningly maintained perennial gardens overlooking an active harbor, The Castine Inn is a charming and relaxing choice for your Maine coast getaway.
Our comfortable rooms
Our eighteen guest rooms, including five suites, are located on the second and third floors of the Inn, and include en suite bathrooms, updated mattresses and bed linens, and access to a small gym and sauna. Each room has its own unique personality, while all maintaining a cozy, coastal style.

Unwind with cocktails and conversation at Madockawando’s, a quirky and historic pub with a full bar, pub menu, hand painted tables, and an ambience just right for making memories.

Breakfast surrounded by our shoreside town
Whether you’re a guest or just stopping by, breakfast is served in the main floor dining room painted with a serene mural of the town of Castine. Some highlights of our enjoyable breakfast menu include Deb’s quiche, scones still made from our former owner’s recipe, and the Castine Inn’s very own house-made blueberry jam.
